Small Group Gatherings

Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of Contemplative Prayer by preparing ourselves to receive this gift. We may think of prayer as thoughts or feelings expressed in words, this is only one expression. In the Christian tradition Contemplative Prayer is considered to be the pure gift of God. It is the opening of mind and heart – our whole being – to God, beyond thoughts, words, and emotions. Its focus is the deepening of our relationship with the living Christ. Its fruits build communities of faith and bond the members together in mutual friendship and love. Centering Prayer meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 5:30 pm.

Ministry of Mothers Sharing

Finding time to develop your spiritual life while taking care of your family can be difficult—even seem impossible. “MOMS” is here to help! These small groups are designed to help busy moms remember God and deepen their spirituality amid hectic schedules. This group meets on Sunday mornings during our Christian Education hour at 10:10 am. If you desire to be a part of this ministry, give Kathy Sheppard a call at 889-8485 or 866-5133.

Parents of Little Ones - P.O.L.O

These parents and very young children meet once a month during the school year to socialize and connect with other church families. They meet in homes, at parks, and other fun, kid-friendly locations. Watch The Clarion & church bulletin for meeting times and places!

The Order of the Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King is a national religious order for laywomen of the Episcopal Church. Our purpose is to bring women and girls to a knowledge and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, and when possible, to membership in His Church. Each member of the DOK pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service, and personal evangelism, dedicated to the extension of Christ's kingdom and strengthening the spiritual life of her parish. The Daughters undertake two vows:

  1. To obey the Rule of Prayer
  2. To obey the Rule of Service

Daughters are ordinary human beings enabled by God's grace to do His work. Our local St. Macrina Chapter meets the third Saturday of each month at 10:30am in members homes. Please contact the church office for the location of the upcoming meeting.

Other Small Group opportunities can be found on our "Ministries" page.
