Christ Church FoundationThe purpose of the Foundation is to receive property contributions, donations, grants, gifts of title, and to invest and transfer the income on principal to Christ Episcopal Church. Donations received by the Foundation will be held in perpetuity with income to be distributed as the donor advises— either restricted to a certain ministry, or unrestricted to be used at the Vestry’s discretion. The Board of Directors, which governs the Foundation, is distinct and separate from the Vestry of Christ Church. Members of the Board are elected by other church members at the annual meeting. Diocesan Convention RepresentativesConvention delegates are elected at the annual meeting each February and represent Christ Church at the annual Convention of the Diocese of West Missouri held in November. Vestry MembersThe Vestry is the body within a congregation that leads the parish. Members of the Vestry are elected by the congregation at its annual meeting and serve a term of three years. In preserving traditions from the Church of England, Christ Church has two wardens, generally referred to as “Senior” and “Junior”. The Senior Warden, Marsha Patterson, is the member of the Vestry who can convene and chair Vestry meetings when the Rector is absent, and the Junior Warden, Charlie Bare, is responsible for the stewardship of the church's buildings and property. The other Vestry members for 2013 are Gary Allman, Skip Barnes, Susan Cardwell, Bob Carolla, Woody Cockrill, Tom Killingsworth, Sally Scheid, Steve Smith, Richard Warriner, and Kris Wolford. |
