Christian Education for Children/Youth
Sunday School
Sunday School is offered on Sunday mornings at 10:10 —11:00 am during the school year. (Sept.—May). Classes are available for children two years old through high school. We use the lectionary based curriculum Living the Good News and offer two classrooms of Godly Play. We are very flexible with our classes and want each child to feel comfortable and learn about God. Godly Play
Godly Play is a method of Christian education and spiritual formation for children. “The goal is to teach children the art of using the language of our tradition — parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action — to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.” We offer two Godly Play Sunday classes during the school year for children ages four to eight.
Vacation Bible School
A week of Vacation Bible School is offered during the summer at Christ Church. Watch upcoming announcements for more information on our 2009 session. This is always widely successful with lots of participation from the congregation and families in attendance.
Christian Education for Adults
Sunday School
We offer a variety of education opportunities starting at 10:10am including Adult Bible Study, lectures, or book study. Please check out our “ANNOUNCEMENTS” section for the current offerings. Education for Ministry
Education for Ministry, affectionately known as EFM, is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the Episcopal Seminary at Sewanee, Tennessee. Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. It covers the basics the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Students meet regularly, usually once a week, in seminars under the guidance of a trained mentor. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 continuing education units for each year’s work. The 2009-2010 term meets on Thursday evenings. Other times and days may be available depending on class size.
