Coffee Time Hosts & Hostesses
Each Sunday we have volunteers bring and serve the refreshments between services. You can bring cheeses, fruit, bagels, or anything else you’d like to have first thing in the morning! (The church provides the coffee.) This is an easy way to become involved and meet new people in the church. If you can help, please call Kathy Sheppard at 866-5133.
Interfaith Committee
This committee meets monthly with members from three other congregations: Temple Israel, Deliverance Temple, and Brentwood Christian Church. They plan events and projects designed to foster communication among our different communities. Please call Nan Palmer at 881-2958 for more information.
Men’s Group
The Men’s Group meets for breakfast on the third Wednesday of every month from 6:30– 8:00 a.m. at the Village Inn on South Glenstone. They help with church events and service projects. Call Charlie Bare at 887-3784 if you want to know more about this great group!
St. Mary’s Guild
Women from the church meet for lunch at noon on the first Monday each month from October through June (except January), and on the second Monday in September. Bring a dish to share at the potluck unless you work outside the home—then just come as you are, and stay as long as you can. Programs are designed to serve many interests, while encouraging participation in service projects, fellowship, and fun. The Guild raises funds by operating The Next-to-New Resale Shop which helps to support local charities and missions within the community.
Vinton Fellowship (55+)
Parishioners age 55+ meet for a catered lunch at 11:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday every month from September through June. Lunches are $5.00 per person. (Reservations may be made by calling the church office a week in advance.) Along with lunch, guest speakers provide enlightening, enlivening entertainment on relevant topics.
Young @ Heart
Young @ Heart activities are open to all adult members of Christ Church and their guests. It is a time of friendship, fun and fellowship...and usually food! The annual wine and cheese is always a favorite, but plan on other activities too. For questions contact Mary Kay Ross at 881-5863 and watch for information in The Clarion.
